Terms of Service

By creating a LuminScript account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use LuminScript.

In this document, “LuminScript”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (registered address: [REGISTERED ADDRESS]), the company that will operate the LuminScript service. Questions can be sent to [DPO/CONTACT EMAIL].

LuminScript helps you create a printed book from your own stories, photographs and documents, with the help of AI, and arranges for it to be printed and delivered. Features, tiers and pricing may change while the product is in development.

You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

You own your book. You keep all rights in the stories, photographs, recipes and other materials you create or upload (“your content”) and in the finished book.

You grant us a licence only to run the service. You grant LuminScript and our providers a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt and process your content solely to operate the service for you — to draft, structure, design, compile, print and deliver your book. This licence ends when you delete your content or account, except for copies we must keep for legal or backup reasons for a limited time.

You warrant that you have the rights to your content. You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, everything you upload; that you have any consents needed from people featured in it; and that your content is not unlawful, defamatory or infringing, and does not breach anyone’s intellectual property or confidence. You are responsible for your content and you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from it.

You agree not to:

• upload content you do not have the right to use;
• create material that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that infringes others’ rights;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service;
• use the service to produce content that exploits or endangers children.

We may suspend or remove content or accounts that breach these terms.

LuminScript uses AI to help draft and design your book. AI is assistive and can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing and approving the final content before it is printed, and you remain the author of your book. We do not guarantee that AI output is accurate, original to your circumstances, or fit for any particular purpose.

Pricing is per project. Creating and editing is free to start; you pay a one-time charge per book project when you choose to compile and print it. Prices are shown before you pay.

Printing is handled by our print partner (Lulu). Production and delivery times are estimates and depend on the partner and your location. We currently deliver to the USA, UK and Australia.

Refunds and reprints. Because each book is printed to order and personalised, refunds are limited. If your book arrives damaged, defective or materially different from what you approved, we will arrange a reprint or refund. [REFUND / GOODWILL-REPRINT POLICY — to be finalised.] This does not affect your statutory consumer rights in the USA, UK or Australia.

You can stop using LuminScript and delete your account at any time. Because production begins when you approve and pay for a print order, orders can only be cancelled before they are sent to the printer.

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and we do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant book project, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

These terms, and any dispute relating to them, are governed by [GOVERNING LAW / JURISDICTION — to be finalised], without affecting the mandatory consumer-protection rights of the country in which you live.

We may update these terms as the service develops and before launch. If we make material changes we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, let you know. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
